Nip and Fab liquid highlighter – Review

I absolutely love the Nip and Fab skincare range and when their makeup line dropped, I was very keen on trying it out. However, for some reason I just never got around to purchasing anything. Therefore, when the entire collection landed on Asos, I saw it as the perfect opportunity to try something out. I decided to be sensible and ease myself into the collection by only purchasing one item that really stood out to me and that was the liquid highlighter.

Even though I am a massive fan of anything glowy, I have never tried a liquid highlighter of this kind (ie CoverFX or Iconic) so I thought what better chance to give it a go and I am so glad I did. This is potentially one of the best highlighters I think I have ever tried and I am totally converted!

I think the one thing that always steered me away from this type of highlighter was the fear of the application. I just always convinced myself that they would be difficult to apply and that they wouldn’t blend very well. Oh how wrong I was. The first time I tried the product, I used the drop applicator to apply directly onto my cheekbone. If I am honest, I thought this way would be very messy but it was the total opposite. By applying it this way I got the most pigmentation, in a clean and direct manor. The second time, I dropped the highlighter onto my hand and went in with my sponge. This way I able to make the highlighter a bit more subtle but still very glowy! Neither way was messy and both blended in extremely well, without budging my foundation underneath so it completely changed my perspective on this type of product!

What I also love about this product is the actual colour. Typically, I opt for golden glows and pink is usually a big no-no for me. This product however just leaves the most gorgeous sheer glow with a rosy undertone. This way, even when it is at its most pigmented it still looks very elegant rather than leaving you with a massive strip of highlighter.

I think my only criticism about this product is the lid. Now, I don’t know if it is just my one and whether it has had a bit too much product put in but every time I close it some of the product splurges out. This mostly concerns me because I am losing product that I could be applying on my face. However, on a more practical level, if it is not wiped away it will dry down and make opening the product quite difficult and obviously it makes a mess in my makeup collection.

The actual product is absolutely stunning. Not only am I glad that I finally tried out a drop liquid highlighter but also the Nip and Fab makeup range. When my next pay cheque drops, I definitely think I’ll be making a few more purchases!
