Flight essentials/ my love for the airport

Not that long ago I uploaded a post on my long distance travel essentials for when I’m in the car or on a train. If you’ve been following my blog, you will know that in less than a week I fly out to sunny Greece, so naturally it felt right to upload a post on my flight essentials! After a busy couple of days travelling back down to Cornwall and moving into my new house in preparation for my final year, packing for holiday and travelling to the airport, I think it is going to be a well-deserved break! I mean, I literally fly in 4 days and I haven’t even started packing because I have to unpack at my new house before I can pack for holiday. So as you can tell by the extremely jumbly and rushed sentences, my life is a little up in the air at the moment, so please excuse the fact that this blog post may not be as put together as my usual ones. Despite all this, I was determined to get this post up so here we go!

Okay (calm), so, does anyone else get super excited about the airport when going on holiday (obviously returning is not the same)? I love the airport, probably a little too much than I should. I guess duty-free has a little something to do with it but the airport gets me so excited as I know that my holiday is beginning, so I embrace every moment of it. Is that weird? I mean, I’ve already looked at the restaurants and where we can go for breakfast (and decided my breakfast); they just get me super excited. Apart from landing, which, always makes my stomach go all funny, and the toilets because I have an irrational fear that a snake will appear after watching Snakes on a plane, I genuinely enjoy flying.

Well now that my love for the airport is out of the way.

When the plane lands and I get off, I always have that morning feeling. I feel like I haven’t had a shower and just genuinely feel a bit gross. On this holiday, that feeling is only going to be heightened as we have to leave at midnight to drive to the airport for our morning flight, so we genuinely won’t have washed for hours by the time we land. So, mostly I like to take products that are going to keep me refreshed (well as much as possible) and allow touch ups before landing.

Due to laws that are in place, we are very restricted on what we can actually take on the plane. As a lot of you may know, I am little bit crazy when it comes to organisation. So airport security makes me extremely nervous, as it does most people, but I always fear that I have something in my handbag that I shouldn’t and start panicking. Due to this, on the most part, I buy my flight essentials once I’ve past security. I’m not saying that I will be buying an entire new makeup bag in duty-free (although that’s not impossible), as I limit my makeup to what I know I’m allowed. However, when it comes to things such as deodorants, I will simply pop into boots once I’ve passed security. I know this may sound slightly absurd, but if I buy my products on the other side, I know that I can pass freely and really enjoy the whole experience.

  • Roll-on deodorant
  • Wet wipes
  • Mini toothbrush and paste
  • Water mist
  • Lip balm
  • Concealer
  • Powder
  • Blush/bronzer
  • Mascara
  • Lipstick/gloss

I’m literally going to be using this blog post as my checklist before I leave

  1. Love this post! The products you have are so cute. I usually have a travel essentials bag pre-packed but I love your list.
