If you’re a major beauty addict, you know how it feels to get sucked into purchasing new products, regardless of the price. Usually these products are rose gold, shiny and way out of our budget: so every Charlotte Tilbury launch, ever.
The problem with this, is the fact that we make these purchases expecting the best of the best. Sometimes, we build our expectations up so much that we only set ourselves up for disappointment. However, when you spend nearly £30 on mascara you expect perfection.
So obviously when Charlotte Tilbury launched their new mascara, I knew I had to give it try! With it’s absolutely adorable packaging, who couldn’t get sucked into buying this beauty. But in my personal opinion, the packaging is the best thing about the product.
The Legendary lashes mascara claims that it ‘doesn’t clump’, ‘doesn’t crack’ and ‘doesn’t drop’. Quite honestly, I’m not sure how I feel about any of these claims. Whilst the mascara does apply consistently and does create the ‘false lash’ appearance, it didn’t take long for me to become unhappy.
When I first applied to product I was super happy with how my lashes looked. And to be fair, I loved the way they looked throughout the day. However, by the time I had finished the rest of my makeup, it had started to run. Although I tried the product many times, I was continuously unimpressed! By the end of the day I looked like I had been punched in the face and quite frankly, considering I spent £25, this is not what I would call acceptable. Now I can handle a little smudge in my mascara: at the end of the day when you’re a little flustered, it would be unfair to expect your makeup to be exactly the same as it was when applied. However, when it is running down your face within 15 minutes, then we have a problem.
Now obviously, after spending that much on a mascara, I wasn’t prepared for it to just sit in the back of my collection. So, I have been applying the product only on my top lashes in order to stop it from running. I absolutely adore this look as I do genuinely enjoy the mascara, it just doesn’t work on my bottom lashes. So whilst, I have found a way to make use of this mascara, considering it’s price tag, I want to be using it because I love it not because I feel I have to.
At lot of girls (and guys) like to apply different mascara on their top to bottom lashes anyway, especially on special occasions. If this is the case, then this mascara is perfect! However, during the morning rush it may not be the one.
Despite all of this, I know a lot of people who rave about this product, so every opinion is different! Just because I didn’t get along with it doesn’t mean someone else won’t! I do just want to point out that I absolutely adore Charlotte Tilbury, but this product didn’t hit the mark for me personally!!
